Ice Goth is our fashion garter gun that we can pull out from anywhere and attack without warning or mercy. It's great, isn’t it? But sometimes even completing one Ice Goth outfit can be a little tough; to collect the pieces and take the dive. If you’re like me, transitioning from my usually color gradient is strange. Whatever underground of alternative fashion you're from, showing up one day in all white is always a pleasant treat to the eyes.
Though a lovely look can be achieved by your basic style just toned in white, really going the extra mile is why Ice Goth is considered a lot for experimentation, and occasions, such as ‘festival wear’, as you know, you’ll definitely stand out.
If you have yet to achieve your perfect aesthetic balance you have with your normal wardrobe with white, or are satisfied with your ice Goth look already, but are curious how to harden the eerie look for other occasions, this is for you.
Today, you are a different monster.
Your palette:
But how do we take it to the next level?
All or nothing. As much as I love that look, in my experience, I found that a full-on white-out overhaul has a much greater affect in achieving that other-worldly glow. White is already eye-catching and there’s still something much eerier yet still magnetic about the ghostliness of all-white.
Makeup:
Makeup here is pretty broad. Basically, any makeup style can accommodate most an Ice goth ensemble. Ice Goth is not picky. In reality this whole sections is moot...
There really isn't any fantastic rule, code or hint for Ice Gothic makeup.

For me, Ice Goth is all about opposite extremes. Though anything off 20 makeup tutorials you’ll love will complete a more OTT look, for extra fun, I like to play with some of the opposite ends of the spectrum.
My two favorite routes for makeup are indeed, opposite extremes, deep, sharp black lines versus lovely blended theatrical tones. I like to call them:
Elegant Raccon-Face
VS.
High-Fashion White
Bringing down the overall values in the face with lots of white, and or other splashes of blended color to bring out the shape and contours of your face without sharp stark lines. More theatrical false lashes, and other touches can encahnce your face without defaulting to eyeliner and thick black lines.
Experiment! Blend! Be even more different from your normal standard of daily different!
Aside from those two, doll-like red lips or pink cheeks are a nice touch to make sure that your extreme waterfall of white doesn’t distract from YOU.
But of course, just pushing your normal makeup routine a bit farther to the brink is even more advisible than ever.

Choosing your materials:
Everyone’s Ice Goth look is going to be different, because it will be rather dramatic reflection of what alternative fashion they are already fond of. Going Ice Goth isn’t going to turn a Lolita into a Deathrocker or vice versa. But still, there are general notes that are good for everyone. Tulle, silk, light, breezy, or flowing materials give an ethereal, ghost-like, and breezy affect, without losing the edge. Soft fabrics don’t have to take away from a hard look. For deathrock chicks that may be a ragged short bustled tulle shirt with ripped white fishnets and heavy buckled white boots. For a Victorian, that may mean long, hanging silk sleeves, and a light, exposed crinoline.
Layering, and patterns are slightly intense and disconcerting. Hypnotic layering of fishnets, or various fabrics with veiled ‘zombie’ undertone cast an eerie, vaporous air.
Footwear
Finding white shoes that are cute and aren't stilettos is tough. Not gonna lie. But using “Lolita” as a keyword for your white boots will really help, even if Lolita isn’t your thing, it’s the truest and smartest way to get a hold of white boots. In my experience, it is much easier to find white boots online then out shopping, seriously. Unless you know a quaint lil' alt shop, which by all means, do share!

But, if you have neither the funds nor the motivation for finding and purchasing a pair of white boots, or are looking for something a tad different, find a nice pair of spats. Spats are not limited to shoes-covering and ankle height. There is actually a very nice variety of stylish spats out there, fresh for the picking. Other than the web, you can find spats at many costume and dance shops.
Of course, that doesn't mean you are limited to such mediums!
Have fun with platform boots, heels, and a personal favorite, ballet slippers, with laced up ribbons no less.
(Ps. real ballet slippers do not lace up with ribbons unless they are point shoes, which you should not be wearing out, especially if you're not trained with them, so the best choice is to get flat ones, and sew the ribbons on, as that's what I've done in the past ^^ )

Some tips:
Ice Goth gathers a lovely sort of glitter to it. Soft undertones of blue and white or silvery glitter make a lovely embellishment. Normally, I’ll be honest, when it comes to rhinestones, I’m a hater. But incorporating a bit of glimmer to your Ice Goth can be a nice touch.
Makeup whites not white enough? Try Sugarpill(It's Vegan!) or Kryolan.
If you’re looking for white eyelashes, do not buy black ones and spray paint them white. Believe me. It doesn’t work. They WILL disintegrate. If all else fails, resort to dusting your lashes with white eye shadow after using a clear mascara or eyelash primer if you’re going for that look.
Invest in white eyeliner. It’s dirt cheap, honestly. Not only does coating your waterline with that stuff make your eyes bigger and eerier, but it doubles as great primer for colored eye shadow.
Whites not white enough? There’s this stuff called bleach. Apparently it makes things whiter, and they sell it at the store. Weird, right?
Best of luck!

That little snippet about bleach is just...so true. Hysterical. I like this post, even though I pretty much knew most of what's in it. Just nice to see it, I guess...
Now to try this as a dark lady without looking like a ganguro...*sigh*
I liked this post very much and I found the bleach part to be quite amusing as well. :) I have been toying around with the idea to go ice goth for a day or so but it would take some time to acquire all the materials necessary in my opinion. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I'd really only be in it for the make-up experimentation. I already have a plethora of ideas for my make-up if I did decide to be a little icy one day ;) Loved the post and those spats are beautiful and making me very envious! :)

Haunting. Glad you covered this, I haven't seen this style as often.
Great post! :) I just loved how it was written and have been thinking about putting together an ice goth outfit for a little while now, thanks for the tips. I am mostly thinking about a ghostly little white dress for the summer, but I will have to start soon...
I really liked this post.
Someday... someday I will have a mini Ice wardrobe. That would be nice. It would be nice Summer wear, and you could really shock some haters with it. "HEY STUPID EMO- Whhaaaaat? White? *confusion* *??*" Yep. It's a plan.
I know I'm a bit late but I'll post anyway
Great post, loved it. I think I'll start stocking up on white clothes and makeup...
Do you mind if I use this as a guest post? I'll credit it to you and everything
